Strategic Acquisition Creates Major IT Services Company for the Legal Market

Combined Client Base will Benefit from End-to-End Solutions that Bolster Attorney Productivity

New York, NY — October 12, 2004 — EXENET LLC, the New York based leading IT Optimization and Assurance services firm today announced that it has acquired the Legal Services Division of Computer Network Technology Corporation, CNT® (Nasdaq: CMNT), the global expert in storage networking solutions, in an all-cash transaction.  The synergistic combination of IT infrastructure expertise, and systems capabilities will provide legal clients with a comprehensive line of complete, end-to-end solutions in the areas of mobility, collaboration, security, and contingency.  All solutions are supported by EXENET Managed Services, delivered through EXENET’s enterprise class Network Operations Center (NOC) located in New York City.

“We have obtained a distinguished team of IT professionals who have been serving major law firms over a decade” reported Umit Cinali, CEO of EXENET “Their proven systems expertise coupled with EXENET’s world class infrastructure offerings and managed services creates a unique and powerful company in the legal vertical.”  Cinali added, “Our combined client base is one of the largest in the legal market, and our expanded solution set will also extend our offerings to mid-size law firms with limited IT staff looking for end-to-end solutions from a single provider.”

The transaction was sponsored by the management of the Legal Services Division.  “We wanted to realize the full potential of our talent set by joining a leading organization focused on the legal vertical” stated Deborah Suss, Legal Services Division Sales Manager “EXENET provided the best fit with its well defined long-term strategy for the vertical and complementary service offerings.  The expanded client base also represents significant cross selling opportunities”.  Ms. Suss will assume the position of Director of Sales for EXENET.

EXENET markets its legal vertical solutions under the Attorney Ubiquity framework.  “Attorney Ubiquity provides the architecture and methodologies that enable the re-engineering of business processes to dynamically connect people, expertise, and resources across multiple offices and with clients into a highly responsive virtual organization” stated Arup Das, CTO of EXENET, “Attorney Ubiquity solutions are driven by a holistic approach that accounts for business objectives, processes, and IT assets, and ensure highly secure and collaborative communications and computing on a 24x7 basis, regardless of location, medium, or platforms.”  Leveraging Attorney Ubiquity, law firms achieve productivity gains, increase billable hours, and reduce operational costs.    In addition, firms are able to cost effectively manage their infrastructure and systems, whether they are dealing with terabytes of data for email, document management, or record systems.

Close proximity of CNT Legal Services Division is expected to allow for quick integration of staff into EXENET existing facilities, which also house an extensive technology laboratory.  Through this acquisition, which included facilities in Boston, EXENET will expand its full service offerings to law firms in New England states. Steven Gershman, formerly a Managing Consultant with CNT, will lead EXENET’s Boston office as Director of New England operations.
